What is the process of an interior design project?
Phase 1: understand your expectations – assessment of the space
During our first appointment, Atelier Alto works on your project with you and on site. This session revolves around listening to your needs: the Atelier puts itself in the place of his client. It will also be an opportunity to visit the space and note the essential aspects to be taken into account for your project: existing site conditions (load-bearing walls, partitions, insulation, plumbing and carpentry, distribution) as well as the potential of the space, its optimization, natural lighting and relevant original elements of the property (moldings, fireplace, wood floorings, etc.). Once the visit is complete, you will have a first idea of the budget for your project – this will be an indicative figure and it will be further defined during the next steps.
Phase 2: APS (avant-projet sommaire)
We enter the heart of the project, the study phase that starts with the survey of your interior. This will be the base on which Atelier Alto will draft the first layout suggestions that will be proposed to you through sketches and drawings: plans, sections, elevations and electrical plan. You will also have the chance to review the proposed mood board (materials, furniture, aesthetic of the project), which will allow to better define the estimate of the project costs.
Phase 3: APD (avant-projet définitif)
We take the reins of the project based on your design preferences. We will go deeper into defining all aspects of the previous phase and go into the details of the design. It is at this stage that you will be able to immerse yourself in your project thanks to 3D and realistic renderings of the space. With all the necessary construction drawings in hand, Atelier Alto will reach out to general contractors that will have been selected for you based on the scope of your project. Following the selection of the general contractor, Atelier Alto will also support you with the next step, if you wish.
Phase 4: oversee and coordinate the works
It is at this stage that your long-awaited project will come to life. Atelier Alto will oversee the progress of the works and ensure the coordination of all the trades involved, including the general contractor, plumber, mason, craftsmen, etc., making sure that your project is realized up to the highest standards and that all the deadlines are respected. Atelier Alto will keep you updated on the progress of the works through regular meetings.
